Gearing Up for Graduation
After the past 17 plus years in some form of schooling, they are releasing me to the public with a degree on March 22nd! It's hard to believe that college is almost over, and I'm very much so excited (and scared) to start this new chapter in my life. I know if won't be completely different, but I have this wonderful feeling that my life is about to get exciting!
I accepted a position near to my hometown working with 4-H youth development. I was more than honored to accept the position and even more amazed to hear that I was chosen from over 70 canadites! In times where people are facing cuts, challenges and career changes, I have been very much so blessed with my first job as a forthcoming graduate!
Even more exciting is the chance to become a homeowner. I am looking into buying my parent's old house (as they have moved across the state for my Dad to take a new job. It will be a slow process (and mostly I will be renting to them for the time being) but the idea of having a place of my own is very exciting!
The past seven weeks of classes here at OSU have been some of the most challenging I have faced as a student. I am taking classes that apply my learning, and push my comfort zone. That being said, little time is left for the social activities, work and volunteering. I hope as I start this position I will be able to be an active part of my community (and yes Theresa, most importantly my church!) I know deep down inside that God has some crazy plans for everything I aspire to do, I'm just waiting for some direction right now.
The hardest part in this whole upcoming transition is leaving what I know to go to something new. I have a great base of friends, and people I trust and care about here in Columbus! I know that I'm only a few hours away, but I'm sure that given time I'll lose communication with a majority of the people that I have spent so much time with. I can already see myself distancing myself from others and with my job starting (teleccommuting) I am often so busy that the only people I see are those I am in class with...
Changing gears, I have a friend that is in need of some extra prayer. I cannot disclose the situation, but I know all of you will say a little prayer for him anyways!
All in all, life is taking a little extra patience (even more than normal), and a whole lot of faith.
Love and Miss You All!
PS..this is for you Theresa! My newest babies have finally come in! They are Caimen (think Alligator) Boulet boots. =) (and yes, Dad has seen them already!)

When did October Come?
It's been a hectic first few weeks here in Columbus, I hope you'll all forgive me for lack of posting!
- Congress started this weekend! It's the craziest month of the year for our store. By far! It makes Christmas look like a cute little puppy.
- I got a free book from a drawing talking about Eco Friendly Families. Very cool, keep you all posted!
- I'm drowning in classwork. It's mostly reading *read, skimming* and lots of papers. My fingers are getting a workout, and I'm seeing the wee hours of the morning again.
- Sprint is coming out with a really cool new phone. I'm saving already. =)
- My laptop has been put on backorder again. =(
- Saw Val this weekend! It wasn't near long enough to catch up..hopefully again soon!
- I love my apartment. I don't think I ever want to share one again. I'm spoiled for life. =)
- I'm also making my first big boot purchase in almost two years! They are made from the belly of a caimen (it's a cousin of the gator) and they are BEAUTIFUL! I'll post pictures. It'll be about 8 weeks to get them through Canadian customs and such, but it'll be totally worth it! =)
- That's about it otherwise. I lead a boring life for the most part, just working a lot, and studying! =)
